what to do first?????
so basically i bought i a 98 accord for 25 bucks (no lie, long long story) and its about the most problematic piece of car i think i've ever owned (next to my old jeep). But hey it's all i got for right now getting me from point A to point B. so really what this thread is about is i'm going to list all the things that are "screwed" up and need to be replaced, and pretty much what i need yall to do is tell me what needs to be done first. Honestly i would just go at it myself but at this very moment in my life i seem to have hit a seemingly long spell of empty wallet and bank account (by the way, dont ever give your bank information to your girlfriend and then break up with her after 3 years....yeah).
so i'm workin pay check to pay check right now and fixing the car piece by piece instead, thats why i need your help. so here.
-knock sensor
-o2 sensor (cat)
-o2 sensor (engine)
-front shocks are squeaking very badly (does this need to be a concern?)
-breaks all around
-belts (in general)
-dashboard clock does not work (it's an inconvenience)
-power steering kinda sounds like a creaky door (?)
-radiator (a hose coming from it leaks, and it just looks nasty)
-body work (the hole car is a mess of fading paint/clear coat and dents)
-i can't figure out if the car is burning oil or leaking but i usually need to pour about a quart into it throughout oil changes, there is no trace of oil spots in the drive way but i also dont smell oil burning (so where is it all going???)
-windshield is cracked, nothing major yet though (12 to 14 inches long)
-i also feel like i should have the engine cleaned as well, why not
so these are the things i can think of now, but hell with that car new stuff seems to plague me every day. so just yeah can ya kinda lead me in the direction i need to going first, and what not ya know? thanks alot, zack.
(and sorry for the over use of parenthesis and ... throughout the thread, i mean what ever right)

Just my 2 cents but these are the items I would knock out first, the rest can wait.

BRAKES (not breaks) absolutely first!
Close second is the radiator.
Next important items are the "squeaky" shocks. If I were a betting man, I would bet the ball joints are bad, not the shocks. That can be VERY bad if they are bad. I would have them looked into immediately. If your ball joints are the ones that are bad, take it up the list right under brakes.
Then I would replace the O2 sensors
Knock sensor
Nice score on the car, I think. lol Post pics if you can. I would like to see what a $25 car looks like. lol

yeah $25 bucks for a car thats only 11 years old,(saying only 11 because its the newest gen in this part of the forum)seems almost too goood to be true. Pics would def come in handy to see what ya got there. Could ya possibly leak us a little bit of the story on how ya got it?
ha my bad on the misspelled brakes, but from what i'm getting here i should look at replacing the brakes as a top priority, then move onto o2 censors and radiator. thanks for the help btw.

and basically the reason i got the car so cheap was the person i got it from owned his shoppe and owed me a lot of money for a previous mix up/mistake he had made prior to me purchasing the car. his original asking price for the car was 2 grand lol so it wasn't a complete wreck when i got it, but still $2000 for a 98 accord is kinda low. 3 weeks after getting the car i found out why it was so low cuz the engine blew on the interstate...yeah. he had told me he rebuilt the engine in the chassis when i bought the car, so when i showed up 3 weeks later with a tow truck carrying my car on the back he didn't really look to surprised when he saw me. so of course he agreed fix it for a very low price lol. thats the very abridged version of the story though.
