Default Quick wire question help!

Ok i just put my engine in my car but its not turning over. I hear like the starter is getting electricity but no turn over. There is this wire that I dont know where it goes. If anyone could help me out and tell me where it goes that would be helpful. TIA

actually i found out it went to the fuse box. When I turn the ignition it makes a whinning sound and the lights dim so I'm pretty sure I need to replace my starter? Yes or no

yeah the battery was fully charged. I'm almost positive its the starter cause of the noise its making. Plus its not even turning over.

x2 the wire you're holding looks like it goes into the fuse box.

should be 2 of them. one from the alternator and another from the starter which connects to the batt positive

yeah I hooked the shown above to the fuse box. I connected it right next to another wire located in the fuse box. My car should start now I would think. I just swapped in the engine.

Hooked up + battery cable to starter on big bolt. Inserted the other black cable.

try giving the starter a few taps with something hard (screwdriver) and then try to fire it up

that could cause a weak connection. even though battery is fully charged if it has a weak connection it could not be putting out enough for it to turn over

Very possible. Also, make sure you thoroughly check all ground straps. That could also cause a no start.

wouldn't hurt to put a battery jumper on there or a battery charger. high amp for starting.

Yeah I tried that and still nothing. What are the symptoms of a bad starter? I checked all of the grounds, all of the wires are properly put on so I might just replace the starter and go from there.

you usually wouldnt hear anything from the starter. nor solenoid click or anything. try taking the starter off and holding it or have someone else turn it to c if it well freespin. if it wont then its dead or not connected properly

i'd say to double check that you have both of these wires on the starter.
