How do i replace my Throwout bearing?
i have a 96 integra and my throwout bearing recently got really bad. i have been looking all over the net trying to find a tutorial on how to change it but i havent had any luck. can someone help me out with this. or at least give me a general idea of what im going to need to do. Thanks
the clutch is fine its practically new and i dont have the money to buy one right. thats my im doing all this myself. does anyone know any tricks to taking the trans out?
when the clutch let out it makes a horrible noise almost like a really bad water pump then when i push the clutch in it goes away. im hoping its the throwout!
drain the tranny fluid.
remove axels/half shaft
unbolt the rear L bracket
disconnect the VSS
and that hydralic cluch thing that moves the shift fork (2 12mm bolts)
remove the stock intake, than starter and maybe the lower radiator hose, you can work around it.
get a jack and support it right under the tranny
take off all the 17mm bolts
umm, unbolt the passenger side mount..
lower the jack with it coming down.
have a buddy down there just incase and 2 guys up on top.
once the tranny is on the floor get a piece of wood and place it under the oil pan and jack it up. so it dosent put to much stress on the mounts.
do what u gotta do
and aligning the tranny back in is a bitch so dont get to frustrated.
once u get it
thread in the 17s
get the mounts bolted up the the chassis
axels in
starters in
fill it up with tranny fluid 2 and a half qts
connect everythying back, ground, sensors etc...
and yeah!
labor is about the same as pulling the whole engine out.
so if you feel like u want to change the timing belt assembly. just pull the ***** out.

It sounds like a bad input shaft bearing in your transmission, not the throwout bearing. When you press the clutch pedal in the main shaft in your transmission stops spinning and the sound stops. I have the same problem and have found it to be a common issue.
Since your throwout bearing is only used when you press in the clutch (it presses the pressure plate splines to disengage the clutch) this tells me that it is not your throwout bearing. Unfortunately, it's probably a input or main shaft bearing as stated earlier.
