Do i have to replace the clutch ??? help me please
i might have to replace the throwout bearing on my gsr and i was wondering if i had to also replace the clutch at the same time ??? because i just had a new clutch installed about 20k miles ago but i was curious if i had to change the clutch when doing the bearing
Yea just as Malachi said you don't have to change the clutch.... Just pull off the tranny pop in the new throw out bearing and you're set... Did you change it when you did your clutch 20K ago? Just wondering cuz that sounds really fast for it to already go out.

They most likely fail due to a lack of grease, or from really abusive driving. The part itself isn't expensive, only around 45 for an OEM Honda bearing... however, labor will rape you every time. I paid 200 for a clutch install about a month ago, and that's cheap compared to most places.
if you are changing out the throwout bearing.. you don't need to change out your clutch~ but if you are changing out your clutch.. it would be wise to go ahead and change out your throwout bearing~ throwout bearings are cheap soo you might as well change it at every clutch change just to be on the safe side~ clutches last a long time soo you don't need to change out the clutch if you just want to change out the throw out bearing.
throwout bearings go bad if you pop your clutch a lot, have lack of lubricant on the bearing, drive aggressive, speed shift (especially), and / or glaze or burn out your clutch. i've done it before with my car.. i speed shifted one too many and i drive aggressive when i'm autocrossing.. and when i warped my throwout bearing, i accidentally glazed my clutch.
you know when your throwout bearing is bad when you hear like a sandpaper type sound when your car is idling and your clutch is released. the sound should go away if you have the clutch pedal depressed and the sound comes back when you release the clutch. it can also sometimes sound like beads on your clutch when it is in idle (but that is the worse case). if your bearing is completely broken or its jammed or not there.. then.. your car wouldn't start.
