springOs
whats up, i just got an EG hatchen back and the springs and "coilovers" its on are way tooo low. he still haves the stock OEM springs, im going to instAll those so i can put my gsr blades on, and i want to cut the springs a little bit until i pick up my GR2's and Stechs. I didnt make this thread to hear dont do it or just wait, all i need to know if there is a way to properly measure the coils to lower it in a sense where it isnt too low and i dont have to end up pulling the struts and springs back off to re do this. again if your going to reply, please reply with what i am asking, im not stupid i know the dangers and mishaps with cutting springs but the future with this EG far exceeds cut springs and a D series Eco vtec motor lol
I cut my front stock springs on my 97 EX.. everyone told me not to do it but eh, if it saves me 100 bucks why not give it a shot. I cut about 1 1/4 TURNS from the bottom end of the spring and it lowered my car about 1 - 1.25 of an inch. im happy with the look. I had actual lowering springs for the back. I cut the front springs to make the tip at an angle, not a "chop" at the end. I have not had any "clunking" when I turn, also DONT heat treat them!
hope this helps...
