Bad idea....you'll lose the progressive rate hurting ride quality. Don't be cheap, at the very least, spent $150 and get a good set of ST coils. They ride like a million bucks.

This is not a recommended practice, you will be very unhappy with the results and you're shocks and struts will not like you. You will cause more problems for yourself and end up spending more in the long-run rather than just buying a good quality set of aftermarket springs.

you cut your springs and you cut your life short! i had a friend that did that and was coming home one night and went around a corner and the spring on the drivers front broke he lost control and went into a telephone post head on. He lived 2 day after that!

Do it. i did.
looks fine untill you get your **** straight and can afford some other set up.
But if you are rolling on webs or something like that just sell em and pick up some donuts and whatever set up you want.
if you are gong to cut em, i cut 3.5 coils off and looks great. easyly get one finger in between tire and fender.
Just know that it needs to be temporary.

The struts will be replaced when you get a complete coilover system.

my car only bottoms out when i drive in bumpy snow and ice.
other than the bumps it handles good on dry pavement or even in ice.
