so i have an ed6 with an obd0 b18a swap, and recently ALL my electrical just started tripppenn out. i think i have a massive shortage sooomewhere but im not sure!

whenever i do anything electrical all my interior lights flicker on and off, my tach and spedometer bounce all around, i can hear many relays clicking on and off, my car sputters occasionally, and my temperature gauge goes up and down. when i press my brakes my temp needle flies way past the H & bounces around. if my lights are off the temp needle is at NOT, when i turn my parking lights on it goes between NOT and the H, & when i turn my lights on it goes way past the H. Everytime i shift my headlights flicker on and off, how is that tied to electrical you ask? im assuming its because of the switch that detects the clutch peddle is pressed down to start the car. Sometimes when my key is out and i turn my parking lights on, my gaslight, ebrake light, oilpressure light faintly turn on...without my key in the ignition.

a few days ago the fuse for my radio, cigarette lighter, and dome light blew. i changed it and everything worked except my radio. i changed the fuse behind my head unit & the fuse for my headunit blew immediately again but my cigarette lighter & dome light still work. This morning my car threw a CEL for code 14, EACV. Im not sure if this is tied into anything, but it might help.

ive had this electrical problem before my radio & the code 14 but it comes and goes. i cant start the car with my lights on because my lights and the short overpower my battery. ive tried to be as detailed as possible andi NEEEED my car to work because it is my only means of transportation to and from work! ANYONE PLEASE HELP!

 

try checking all your grounds in the engine bay and add another one to the valve cover...!!!

 

i have a grounding kit & voltage stabilizer. Im grounding my distributor, throttle body, starter, alternator, thermostat ground, & valve cover. i also have a faat ground for the battery too. i made sure all the contacts for the voltage stabilizer and battery are clean and good.

 

bummmppp aannyone? ihave to get this fixed by monday>.<

 

Is the transmission grounded? Double check your grounding kit is properly installed.

 

i highly doubt it has anything to do with the grounding kit, & i grounded everything well. triple checked and everything.

 

problem solved! turns out the negative cable for my battery was grounded to my tranny, and my leaky distributor leaking all over it didnt help! I regrounded it to a clean spot on the chassis & cleaned it all up and everything works perfect. i actually think its brighter than before! haha
