Default Electrical problem

OK so my lights started acting weird this week. When I turn my lights to the first (parking light) position everything is fine. But when I turn the switch to the second (headlight position) all of the lights except the head lights go out. Everything, all the interior dash lights and the parking lights don’t work. The turn signals work when turned on, and the brake lights work when pressed. This just started all of the sudden this week. I haven’t messed around with any of the wiring or anything in the recent past. I’m confused, any help?

If the lights were in the parking light position (everything is working fine) and I turn the switch to the headlight position all of the lights with the exception of the headlights just go out just as if I turned the switch off. Then if I turn the switch back from the head lights to the parking lights everything comes back on no problem. So its like the headlight switch is an off switch for every light except the headlights.

Thank you for the info. This makes the most sense because I found out that if I turn the switch very slowly that the lights will stay on. I just have to find time to fix them now.
