Opinions on my upcoming build!... **CLICK**
got this stock b18b1 in my del sol ... 43,xxx miles on it.. deciding if i should pull the motor out this winter and start fully building it(will take a few months) or should i buy a b16 head, send it to a machine shop, slap it on, boost, and keep internals stock for now n slowly build it?(could be a fast process).... let me know what your opinions are and why ...
Why do LS/VTEC + boost? It should be either or, at least in my opinion. LS/VTEC setups are already not very reliable themselves, adding forced induction would only make it less reliable methinks.
If anything, I would just slightly build your LS (if at all) with ARP headstuds and headgasket just to prevent headlift. Get a good turbo kit from GO-AUTOWORKS or something, and you'll be making a good amount of power for a cheap price.

^^^ i like the idea and since that requires opening the engine i would do a block guard while your at it. THEN boost. Although you can safely boost a stock LS

Why would he spend the money on another engine when he already had one?? and downgrading?? I got a b16 there junk there rev happy motors.. Save the money get a vtec head (make sure you tap it for vtec) and slap it on. You dont have to spend tons of money for a lsv conversion. You can buy a t-fitting and line at a local hardware store and tap it into your oil pressure switch on your block will do the samething just not as fancy...
Personally I would do the LSvtec now and start saving up until u have ALL the cash and then tear it down and build it. I got a good buddy that has been running a LSV for over a year and hes got over 30k miles on it, and his old lady has a heavy foot. If you do them right they are reliable. I also had another buddy that did it on his teg and it lasted about a month, it all depends how you do it
