p.s. - also, when i paint my valve cover, am i supposed to clean the other side of the valve cover (the inside of the cover) ? is it ok to get the paint stripper inside of it? safe to clean out with water?

just the spark plug wires and the bolts holding it on ~ member to make sure you know where the spark plugs wires go otherwise car wont run if there not right . clean the inside with brake cleaner. and dont paint it unless your using high temp paint of it will just burn off and look terrible.

Also, make sure valve cover is cool, and then apply jet stripper to it. Remove paint. It will basically peel off(don't use your hands when peeling paint), then clean again, lightly sand, and paint. Put back on, drive your car hard, heat will help paint stick. later.

You have to take the plugs out as well.

just spray some of the paint into a cup and paint it on the letters ver carefully, otherwise just sand it down when it is dry. Either way.

strip all the paint and just polish it. painted valve covers look ugly if not professionally done with paint that matches your car. I hope you didn't paint it red for that "type R" look

Whats wrong with red? Some people want the valve cover to match the color of their car... so if its red, why not paint it red... that doesn't mean they want "the TYPE R look YO!"
