93 cx drum conversion help
> phunhaus is right:
yes, you really can pull a rear disc from any integra & it will bolt-up
(...like all trailing arms and bolts and what not will match up)
you'll need to get rear disc brake hoses since drum hoses are shorter
after you swap out the drums for the discs, you'll also need to get an alignment
the valve prop isn't a big issue, i ran mine on a drum prop and it was fine since most of your braking is done with your front brakes. if you decide to swap out the valve prop, source one from a non-abs w/ rear disc
time and time again, i hear ppl "advising" that a bigger m/c is needed for a rear disc swap. for the record...the size of your m/c is determined by the size of your front brakes (not your rear brakes)
if you haven't swapped out your knuckles in your 93 civic CX, you have stock civic DX front brakes (9.4" front rotors). general rule is…with your stock civic DX, with the stock front calipers, keep your 13/16” M/C. any bigger and your pedal will be too stiff
when you go to upgrade to a bigger caliper that uses a larger piston (ie., integra, civic ex, 99-00 civic si, itr, nsx, legend 2-pot, s2k, rsx, etc), THEN you'll need a bigger m/c because you are pushing more fluid through the brake lines
consider the crx si, del sol si & 92-95 civic si...they all come from the factory with 9.4" front brakes w/ rear discs on a 13/16" m/c
nogo1231, 2 different sized m/c's you're recommending here...
the 92-95 civic si (rear disc w/ DX knuckle brakes on 9.4" front rotors) used a smaller m/c (which is NOT any different than what the OP already has on his firewall, it's actually identical)
&
the 92-95 civic ex (drums w/ EX knuckle brakes on 10.3" front rotors) used a bigger m/c because of the bigger front brakes
g/l OP, let us know how this works out for you

Just wondering what's op? I've seen it used a couple times and know it's refering to me haha. I plan on picking up trailing and control arms off of an integra sometime this week. I'm going to get all the parts I need to upgrade such as rotors and and calipers new and high performance. This is going to take a little while but I'll piece together as I go. I'll keep you guys updated

ok, as far as rear lower control arms, the 90-93 integra DA & 96-00 civic EK are NOT compatible with your set-up (93 civic CX), it was cause issues when trying to align (the 88-91 civic crx EF, 92-95 civic EG & 94-01 integra DC will work). just use your rear lca's when swapping to rear disc.
Just give Brian a call at Fastbrakes.
He'll know the answer to all of your questions and he can supply you with all of the proper parts for your set up. He's only been doing brake swaps for the past fifteen years plus.
He won't cost you a fortune either.

take the complete front knuckle/spindle with brakes from any 94-01 integra (or 92-00 civic EX, 99-00 civic Si, etc)
if you're upgrading your front brake system:
a. keep the brake booster from your 93 civic CX & use a bigger master cylinder from a 90-91 civic EX.
honda oem part # 46100-SH4-A11.

b. grab the m/c & booster from the integra

Alright so if I wanna upgrade to integra brakes All the way around my shopping list would be:
rear trailing arms with brakes attached
teggy e brake cables
teggy rear brake hoses
front steering knuckles with brakes attached
teggy booster and mc (just for compatibility reasons)
teggy prop valve
Am I missing anything?

new crush washers for the brake hoses
pads, rotors...
get a bottle of brake fluid
bench bleed the master cylinder
bed in pads/rotors
get an alignment

after caliper installation, here is the CORRECT bleeding sequence:
Bleed the brakes Right Rear, Left Front, Left Rear, Right Front. You do not go farthest to closest with Hondas.
Always bench bleed the Master cylinder when replacing the master cylinder, ABS unit, or proportioning valve.

Alright so I'm thinking of upgrading the brakes when I get the parts to brembo blanks with hawks pads( I heard that combo is phenominal). But I wanna upgrade my calipers too. What's a good caliper? I'm thinking of going with a multi piston caliper but I dunno what is good for a decent price. Thanks in advance
