I have 95 civic coupe...im getting 2 1/2 in exhaust fabricated at my local performance shop...i was looking at this muffler.....what are yalls .02???????

I'm not a fan. In my opinion, all straight-through mufflers are too loud, annoying, and ugly for street use.

Just my opinion, but I bet others would agree with me.

 

riced out 2 big unless you have a turbo you might be burning exhaust vualves.

Avoid a straight through exhaust, especially that first one. Just keep in mind if you are planning on lowering the car or if it already is about ground clearance. Theres nothing uglier than seeing a civic without a huge exhaust pipe that barely clears the ground, unless you pushing 700hp you dont need anything bigger than 2.5 inches.

 

still don't like straight through mufflers. If you're going for strictly looks, I guess I think the OBX looks a little better. I think they'll both sound like crap though.

are you running a resonator of any kind? A cat?

 

there is another thread going on right now about OBX twin loop, probably just as cheap and wouldn't blow your ear drums or bank.

that is unless you are set on the large, straight through "you-know-what-can" look?

 

I stopped coming over to this side of HT cause of dumbass' like this. please dont speak unless you know what you are talking about. if you have a reason why you think that a valve would get burned due to the size of exhaust pipe then please explain but dont just randomally spit crap out of your mouth without wiping afterwards.

to OP, I have ran 2.5 for a long time and had it custom made down at the local exhaust shop to make sure that it fit snug up against the under side and have not had any problems what so ever and if you are trying to fit into this JDM drivin market then the "fart can" is not "cool" unless it says N1 or something like that on the side. of course you can always get one of the usual suspects like the ws2 but instead of asking everybody else how about you do what you want. Loud exhaust save's live's.

 

look into a vibrant muffler and tell them to make a 90 degree turndown at the end they look sick like that and they got for about $60ish

 

turn downs can look sick. and my car has always been a little loud never been hit except by some idiot that ran a red light when i was sitting still and couldn't hear my exhaust.

 

its ricy man kep it stock until you can afford a nice one like megan or n1 or even HKs

Not to be mean, but I always feel embarrased for people driving cars with those mufflers... IMO they look dumb and sound terrible (embarrassingly terrible). I've always preferred doing a Y-split in front of the trunk and going into a pair of mufflers something like this one:

That way you still get the air-flow, without looking like you're trying so hard... They sound nicer too, but that's just my opinion. But hey, you're the one who's going to be seen and heard in the vehicle, so do what pleases you...

 

though I do like the "open header" idea too.......

 

Too big. Go with something smaller & shorter.

 

yea the shop is doing a catback for me...they have a standard magnaflow muffler they use. I just found this out today...i have not seen it though its an extra 100. so i might just go that route...and thanks for all the replys!!!
