Default anyone know where to fill r12 ac at?

I know someone that has a couple of the r12 cans left, but he doesn't have the adapter to fit the ac. Anyone know where I could go to get it filled if I bring them the cans?

you can get it done at any place that services A/C

PepBoys

Wal Mart

Firestone

etc.

They usually charge more to do r12 service though (even if you have the cans)..it's quite the rip-off

how much more would they charge. I remember someone said that they paid 160 for it to be recharged.

It depends on where you go.

The larger places like Pep Boys and Wal Mart will always be EXPENSIVE......they charge a certain set amount to even TOUCH the car...and then they usually give you some BS like other crap is wrong and they won't charge it unless you get it fixed. (I assume you know you have a small leak but you just want a recharge anyway?)

Anyway, try to find an independent shop and get them to recharge it.

Muffler/radiator shops do that kind of stuff a lot...

I got mine done for $25 (I had my own cans). Anything more than that is really just a rip-off...it's a 5 minute job.
