obd1 LS to 99ex coupe
hey guys i need help about this swap... i already got t-bracket and driverside mount from 99-00 si, conversion harness obd2b to obd2a and obd2a P75 ecu. now im wondering what kind of distributor do i need to use? can i use d series alternator to run this motor? How to bypass CKP sensor? thnks
I just snagged this from another post listing dizzy issues. Feel free to use my link in my photobucket, i have unlimited bandwidth.
It depends on the plugs at the end of the harness where you plug your alternator and distributor in. i would say use the stock alternator for the car and use the distributor that fits (splicing wiring always causes a pain). the plug guide for the dizzy should help.

Your going to have to swap the engine harness distributor plug regardless of the dizzy you choose. You can go with a obd2a or b teg dizzy. You might be able to use the obd1 I'm not sure.
I repinned my stock harness to the obd2 big plug and used a 99 teg distributor.

i highly disagree with cutting a harness, but depinning is good if you understand how. but i believe you will run into issues about the rpm lead signal reguardless. you can not use a obd2b because of the rpm lead signal.

i believe your going to need an abd2a harness or run your wires for the two extra pins that you cant connect to. (rpm lead signal both + and -) but you will need to ensure that you depin the plug in and add the two wires, see if any of your friends has a mangled harness with the end on it. if you do not, your tach wont work.
and yes, you can use your stock alternator if it will line up.

you could, it may be a little iffy if you dont do it properly, then you will have random miss fires, random intervals of your tach not working. you could you still have to run 2 wires for the leads i was talking about earlier.
your bet bet is to depin the connector. the info is available in the link to another post on this site. it is for a teg guage cluster but you will bet the idea on how to do it. no soldering and no heat shrinking.

i kinda got it now.. so heres my question? im gonna be running my stock obd2b engine harness and im gonna get the obd2a dizzzy, so im gonna need a obd2a dizzy plug ryt? how can run the 2 wire from the plug to the ecu without soldering? my guess is I HVE TO DEPIN THE ECU harnees too?
