Anyone using cp pistons
H22a4 block getting golden eagle sleeved looking at cp 10-1 pistons but on yoparts they don't say turbo app. just wondering if anyone has used these pistons on a mildly ( 12-17psi) boosted H22 or have information about cp pistons. I don't want to go down to 9-1 since my boost doesn't kick in til 4k so I would lose all my low end.
4K is pretty early. I run cp's but I'm running 9:1 for more boost. My gsr with those pistons, and a t3 60-1, big a/r, full boosts right @ vtec (5200).
Obviously it's all in the tune/tuner, but there are plenty of 10:1 motors out there running strong. Look @ all the stock type r's, and they are what 11:1 or something.
Also, you want a target hp to shoot for, psi doesn't mean anything, jus a way to measure how much it took to get you there....

Ya my goal is 335 whp figured with my setup it should only be 15 psi. but who knows seen some high boost cars getting horrible dyno numbers. Also I run the same turbo t3t4 60-1 a/r .82 . car is down at the moment due to a bad oil pump , got another motor just waiting to be sent out to goldeneagle. I was just concerned on the pistons just for the fact that yoparts list the pistons I want as n/a other shops list them for all. Would hate to lose a new motor for an over sight. I like to research all my info but sometimes anothers experence is invaluable.
There is no other piston I'd use. Stay away from the X-forged ones though they are designed to be lightweight for all motor cars. There is someone on here who makes 1000whp with off the shelf CP's no upgraded wrist pins or anything.
Since they changed their self-destructo design, I've been thinking about using them next. The only problem is they don't list the specs as detailed as Wiseco, so you can't plug numbers into a compression calc. The only reason I'm not 100% for Wiseco for my next motor is because their shelf pistons are either 8.6:1 or 10:1. I'd rather have 9.5:1, but I may do 10:1 since it will be mostly a street car.
Speaking of compression, there are quite a lot of stock rod/piston GSR's and B16's that are 350+ whp. Thats at 10-10.3:1 compression with cast pistons and usually pump gas. If those motors can do it, a piston/rod motor should take it w/o an issue.

Yea man, that turbo is awesome!! You should be able to do 350 on about 12-15 psi max. I didn't dyno mine when I pulled my et's, but Im sure it was right @ or around 450-500hp. On 93 octane and about 16-18 psi, I got my hatch to go 11.0 @ 129mph, 1.7 60ft. If I pulled a 1.5-1.6 60 I could have went 10.8 or so. Keep in mind the efficiency range for that turbo is 15-25 psi, so I would just get tuned for 15 or more.
BTW- Those times in my sig were from when the car still had stock sleeves, cp pistons and eagle rods, If it makes you feel any better. Granted now Im running a darton sleeved block, but still with cp pistons, and went with beefier rods, crowler.
