help with my eg please
i got a 92 eg vx with a gsr swap and it rained the last few days and my car has been acting funny it warms up at 3200 rpms and the nwhile driving the idle will stay at 2400 even when stopped and no load on the car rarely it will drop down too 1500 when at a stop light if it does drop then the car will start to choke when only partially in the throttle goes away if i floor it while driving so ishut the car off for 4 seconds while rolling refire it with a clutch pop and the choking goes away... what is wrong? i checked vacuum leaks found one it didnt help anything! chenged fuel filter nothing! i took the intake tube off and stuck my hand over the intake hole and the car died.......help it is driving me insane!
Sorry about that. I was trying to post in another thread and for some reason it posted to this one.
Anyways, where did you find the vacuum leak? Have you ever messed with the idle adjustment screw? Any CEL's?

i got the motor from hmo and the tps came unscrewed from the mani and i put it back in and the car ran fine for 6 months... and it came off the intake mani by the tb. i took the secondarys out 3 weeks ago but the car ran fine for the three weeks. i dont get y the car is idleing so high?
U have to calibrate the TPS man those damn things r touchy and cause so many crazy problems. If u didn't calibrate it than do it and the problem will probably b fixed.

You should be setting it, with a multimeter. Back probe the middle wire IIRC.
Should be at least .45-.5v closed and around 5v WOT.
I had some weird idle issues with my GSR motor, and the TPS fell apart when I pulled it off.
A constant high idle sounds more like a vacuum leak. But I guess if the TPS is really that out of adjustment it could be your problem.

When the conditions get just right things start acting funny, the TPS could b just one of ur problems. If your sure that u have it exactly where it needs to b (not even a hair off) than we'll look at other possiblities but u really do need to reset it with a multimeter. Has the car dried out good since the rain? Kinda sounds like water in one of the connection plugs somewhere.
ya its been hot the last 2-3 days so i will get it reset later today and see what happens i ahve had local people tell me they think it is a intake air valve
i have a new intake mani and a new throttle body on the way so i am gunna just mess with it after i get it put on. and i got a buddy who will calibrate it for me...
