is it possible to jump timing thru the distributor on a b16?
a bunch of my friends have been arguing this. if you put the distributor 180 degrees out and the distributor gets lodged into the cam. can that make it jump time?
The only way you can 180 out a dizzy is to pull the pin and 180 the ears. The ears and cam only go 1 way. Just bring the motor to TDC and see where the dizzy points, it should point to #1.
So to end the argument. Its impossible to just pull the dist and spin the ears 180 and screw it back down, it will look like it will fit but like 1-2 bolts wont flush up. Secondly there is no way you can even get the cam to jump 1 tooth on the belt. So Busted
