Icon7 need some help. h22 vtec

i have a friend whos timing belt broke on his prelude while driving. somebody replaced the timing belt for him and evrything is lined up and even. I just finished a valve adjustment on it and i cant figure out y its not starting yet. Id like to avoid taking the head off but i might have to. So far the best weve got is that it cranks but it sounds like it has no compression in any cylinders. if i feel the exhaust while he cranks it it seems like one cylinder fires but the others dont. i dont think that the valves would be bent in 3 cylinders. please if any ideas let me kno so we can get this thing started. Im still learning but could use help.

buy a compression tester and test all 4 cylinders, then you will know if you have to take the head off.
