ok i just had my turbo rebuilt,i put it on today and when i go up to 6k rpm or higher it starts to break up and pops until the rpms drop. als oi noticed the turbo shaft dont turn at idle but quickly starts when engine is reved up. it seems to boost fine until 6k and normaly driving is ok.
now b4 u think what a newb he dont now **** about turbos...your right i am new to turbo setups but i now how to work on cars so be nice. thanks for any input

 

How long was your car down for repair? Gas could have gone bad, spark plugs might need replaced. The problem doesn't necessarily sound turbo related, although the turbo shaft not spinning at idle is a problem. Did the shaft spin freely before you installed the turbo? Is oil feeding to the center section unrestricted? Is it draining unrestricted? Have you checked for exhaust leaks?
See if the shaft spins freely with the engine off and make sure it's getting oil.

 

yeah its spins fine, its getting oil init but ill check an make sure its goin out of it.no exhuast leaks. b4 the rebuilt the shaft barely spun when running

 

put new plugs in, gap them, and that could be your problem. A car I'm working on does the same thing and put new plugs in and all is well. it would break up past 6k in 3rd and 4th gear

 

ok ill try that. i have another newb question. should i get hotter or colder than stock plugs? and how much hotter or colder?

 

plugs looked ok but installing new ones tomorrow..will update hopefully it fixes the prob
