What kind of turbo are we talking about. Also does it spin freely if you spin it whith your finger or does it come to a sudden stop?

I have no shaft play at all...I had a tubing coming out of the turbine facing towrads the ground and at the end of the tube i placed a sock. I was boosting and the sock flew off...When I went to go pick it up it was ripped up a bit...Could it have gotten sucked up or something?

If a turbo is new then it would take a little time before it breaks in before it starts to spin at Idle. or if you have a turbo that has not being used for sometime then it would take some boosting before it spins at Idle.

Quick question, that loud squealing does it sound like a loose belt? did you check your belts?

Never really heard a turbo squeal before...hmm

idk what the expletive you guys are talking about not spinning at idle...your **** is messed up.

Squeeling noise...check the turbine housing bolts that connect the turbo to the center section. Makes me think your housing is falling off.

OP...did you drive through The Dalles Oregon within the past two weeks?

No the turbo is not new and I drive my car everyday. something happened when I was boosting...I was in 3rd gear and once I caught full boost and popped it into 4th...this high pitched noise started to happen once I get full boost...It sounds like an electric drill...

so i just checked his fins ( im 1fstdc2's brother) and two of them are bent on the tip a little..maybe the sock ripping and allowing something like a small rock in there messed up the fin? would a bend on the tip of the fin make it sound different when spooling?
