Default Post-boost problems

So I just took my turbo off and I'm having some problems. The motor is burning oil, its most likely bad piston rings. It is a sleeved motor so someone told me it might be a shifted sleeve? What is the probability of that? I'm going to take the motor apart, what should I be expecting? Can I just replace the pistons and the piston rings or will any machine work need to be done to the cylinders? Thanks in advance...

what makes you think it's the rings?

Could be bad valve stem seals or valve seats in the head. You may want to perform a compression and leakdown test first before making the determination that is the piston rings and wind up getting the wrong parts that are not necessary

We changed all of those and had the head checked when we had to replace the headgasket about 2 months ago.

PCV could do it too. Hell, it might be your turbo.

I never heard of oil burning because of bad PCV valve, nevertheless it was checked as well. The turbo is off the car like I said, the only reason I took it off is because I thought it had bad seals but it still burns oil even with the turbo off...

If it is rings, you'll have to hone the cylinders to get a proper seal with the new rings...I'm 95% sure you do anyway.
