Default WTF?!?! tranny problem...need help asap

arite so here'z the deal, around tuesday of last week my tranny started grinding when i would shift to gears 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and would make a real bad grinding noise when comming to a stop if i left it in gear and didnt pop it in neutral. thought it wuz my clutch since it it the original from 1991. so on saturday i replaced my clutch with a zoom stage 2 and a fidanza flywheel come to find out my old pressure plate wuz worn the **** out but the clutch material wuz still thick as hell! suprised me. so then i start it up everythings fine till i try and go through the gears....GRINDING FROM HELL ALL GEARS you have to forace/slam it into gear if u can even get it in gear and reverse man lets just say i think i need a new tranny quite possibly. couple people been telling me my syncros went out or the shift forks IDK its just odd to me that the hatchy'z tranny would all of a sudden just take a **** on me its a 91 DX w/MPFI and i've had it for almost 5 years now????? PLEASE HELP - JAYDM

MISC. INFO - skunk2 short shifter, energy suspension shifter bushings.

Did you make sure you have enough fluid in the transmission? Has it been changed?

Does it grind all the time? I would def check the shifter fork, it's highly unlikely that all the synchros would go out at the same time.

Did you adjust the slack out of the trans cable? Pull the shift lever all the way up and tighten the little black plastic **** on the clutch line.

yep has enough, changed it and filled it till it wuz pouring out the fill hole. it use to grind as i wuz shifting into gear but once it wuz in it wuz fine but comming to a stop sign or light if i didnt pop it in neutral it would grind like crazy. say for instance im in 2nd comming up to a stop sign u here a grind from hell if i didnt put it in neutral. yep adjusted the clutch cable everything's good just cant get it in any gears now except reverse and i gotta like yank it in with a nasty grind.

Can you put the car into gear while the car is off? If so, then you might have installed the clutch disc in backwards. You might have to take off the trans again to make sure, and yes it can be installed backwards, I have done it personally

Make sure the disc has the springs facing out toward the trans. Most have an indication which side goes toward the trans and which goes to the flywheel.

You will have to remove the trans anyways to see if the forks are bent somehow, so you might as well check everything over while it's out.

Get a new transmission, its long gone. It sounds like it locked up on you.

When mine did that, people were telling me that it was the tranny. Come to find out my clutch pedal bracket had broke which made it hard for me to go into gears. You might want to check that as well.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Is your pedal loose? Check your pedal bracket.

i think you need to just buy a new tranny instead of wasting your time fixing a crappy one. you can get an si tranny for about $100-$150
