power window conversion complete, nothing works
I just completed a conversion on my 98' CX, i used a 96-98 EX floor harness and the matching door harnesses. i got everything connected up but the windows dont work. i dont have the mirrors or locks hooked up, im going to swap that later when i have the money. I checked the three 20amp fuses nothing is popped. All my grounds seem ok, i have the relay from the same car as the harnesses attached too. I also checked that the plugs from the doors to the floor harness are attached firmly and they seem fine too.
If anyone has any ideas lemme know, im going to recheck the grounds a lil later, also gona test the relay with a DMM. Is there a way to test the window motors to be sure they are working without the harness?
Thanks,

Thanks,
ok...so i tested another friends relay and it still didnt work. My passengers window ill go up but not down and i have nothing on the drivers side. my grounds seem ok and i checked all the fuses. I am almost positive these harnesses were from a 96-98 ex. if it was from a 99-00 how would i know? my car starts so i dont think its from a 99-00, i had read that if you use a 99-00 harness then your fuel pump would be improperly wired so since mine starts i dont think its that
bump for any help
Also checked and the door speakers work and the power window control box clicks when the button is pressed. so it seems the only thing not working on the harness is the window motors

Have you tested power at the motor and the motors themselves? You should see if you can just bypass everything and apply power straight to the motor. Otherwise you should test the master switch before and after the switch to make sure you have continuity. Hope this helps.
Apply battery power directly to your motor just briefly to see if it runs. A 9/12/14V power tool battery should work for you too.
Other than that, I would bust out the Helms manual and start troubleshooting using that. You'll have way more success helping yourself with that than the shots in the dark you'll get from this board. It's very difficult to diagnose at a distance.

thanks, i checked all the wires and i dont see any shorts, my grounds are good. im gona just bypass the door harness directly today and run to the cig lighters power line.

Well i found the problem, 2 wires for the floor harness broke off from their pins at the junction for the floor harness to door harness. I wound up cleaning all the electrical goop out of it, stripping the wire and soldering it, pressed it into the broken pin and then stuck my soldering pen in too melt the solder on the wire to the pin. seems to be fairly intact. The windows all work now, just need to get the drivers window to seat properly.
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions

Congrats on finding the solution ... not surprised it was wiring related, as opposed to bad motors, switches, etc. Also -- broken pins are (probably) not your fault! Not due to you crossing wires, etc.... something I have done many-a-time, often with funny results. (eg., squirting the front windshield ran my rear wiper, once .. hehe)
