I have an 02 accord and the clock light up and the (d)(p) and all those lights light up but as soon as i turn my headlights on my clock lights go out and my dash cluster doesnt even light up, and all the light that would normally be on in the cluster shuts off, can someone help me?

i didnt mess with anything and the ground should be good because i tied in a a/f ratio guage to it and when i turn my lights on the air fuel ratino guage does light up, i wa thinking maybe its a fuze?

If I understand right, you have dash light when the switch is on park position. When you turn the switch to head light, the dash light turns off. If this is the case, you may have a bad combination switch.

 

actually its not that the interior lights work lik the whole dash clock and everything, when the lights are off, but when i turn it to the park postition or the headlights all the lights go out that is part of the dash inclusing the clock

 

Try adjusting the instrument panel brightness.

Check the number 10 fuse in the passenger side fuse box, which is a 10A fuse. Since your instrument panel lights up until you turn on your headlights, check this one.

 

Also, if that fuse is blown and the instrument panel works properly again (at least temporarily before it blows again), that means you probably have a short somewhere.

 

well i just checked all my fuses and they are all fine, but i noticed that on the driver side the instrument panel back up light fuse is not there so i tried putting one in place and well there is no metal holder to even hold the fuse, same with in the the hood there is no dash relay fuse and there is no metal clip to hold it in place.

 

There's a good chance that the driver side multiplex control unit is messed up then.

 

i was hoping that isnt the problem, any other advice?

 

No other advice I can think of at this moment.
