Default 88 civic dx issue?!?

My civic was running perfect, then my voltmeter was reading about 7V or 8V. So i took the alternator out and got it tested and it was bad. So i charged my batt. and got a new alternator put it in today, hooked the batt. up and i have no power to nothing??? My volt meter is reading ZIP and nothing happens when my ignition is turned on and no lights work, not even the inside overhead light. I checked all fuse's under the dash and under the hood. OMG what could it be???? plz help VERY appreciate your help

well the fog lights r the only thing working beacuse their getting straight juice from the battery is the starter clicking or trying to turn the car over?
did you hook up the battery right red pos black neg did you make sure the small wire coming fromthe fuse box conected to the starter. and is the altenator properly grounder?

The car does not do a thing. key on or not. no clicking no nothing. and on the back alternator theres a plugin and a ground but they go directly into the harness. and idk where it goes from there. But if the ground is bad then would it matter if i didnt use the ground wire from the harness?

and yes the batts hooked up right

This makes no since, Nothing was changed or modified! The job was a simple alternator replacement. Is it possible that the new alternator has a faulty internal ground, and that could be the problem? Nothing else was touched!

FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!
Main fues box, 60amp battery fuse is blown! I checked it during the day and I guess missed it, went out tonight with a drop light for a second look and seen it plain as day. Guess the lighting was wrong to see it, hair line split! Problem solved......:-)

when you changed the alt did you make sure the batt was unhooked when you put the wire back on the alt? i blew a fuse when it grounded out on mine, check your underhood fuses.
