Default t3/t4 t67 or t4 61?

hello all! i have a fully built 83mm b18c motor and just blew the turbo,
so i have narrowed it down to two turbos. a couple question though..
which will spool faster and by how much? and how much more power will the
T3 67 make?
this will be daily drivin and really just interested in which spools quicker, but which would be a better application for drag racing? thanks

well, the 2 different turbos are for 2 different manifold flanges. Go with what ever turbo your manifold is flanged for.

"spooling fast" is not in the description of either of these two turbochargers. They are made for high top end power, lower midrange end users. The T67 makes up to about 700whp, while the 61mm can do about 620-630 before it really starts to run out of breath. Either way, because of the exhaust wheels that are typically used on either application, For your engine, all 1825cc of it, won't reach maximimum pressure under 20psi until about 4600 for the 61mm, and about 4800 for the 67mm. Turbine housing change will make little difference.

Agreed. its not spool its how much power you want to make. spool is irrelivant especially when anti-lag is involved

with those turbos, spool shouldnt matter.
i have been using the t3t67ho for a long time.
it has light switch power.
look here for spool:

i understand these are drag race application turbos and lag wont be an issue at all when racing as the motor never sees anything below 7500rpm's
but this is my daily driver, and i hate how it feels like a gutless all motor car up to 6000rpms. i dont dtreet race but i do like having the low end power for around town. the turbo i blew was a t4 67mm p-trim .82ar and was not fun for street.

so looking for which turbo will spool quicker, i know the t3 67 will make a bit more power. but which will spool quicker? the t3 t4 67p-trim .68ar? or t4 61mm p-trim .82ar

The t3/t67 h.o is the same thing as your t4/t67, its just has a machined T3 housing on it to fit, I dont think the turbine wheel size matters much either, I outspooled my friends 2.0L stg5 wheel journal t3/t67 with my 1.8L bb t3/t67ho by a good 500rpm

Graph 1: 85x89 t3/t67 Stg 5 .82 ITR Cams 9:1
Graph 2: 81.5x87 BB t3/t67 h.o. .82 GSR Cams 8:1

Both of the turbo's you are mentioning are going to spool slow, if your looking for more low end you need to be looking at GT30R and GT35R's

Lol how can you recommend a Turbo to anyone when 1 of your 2 posts on this site is asking about what Turbo you should pick for your car?

In other words, we're saying "there is no one that "spools" quicker". They both move slow. You won't win.

wow that second graph is crazy! spool looks real quick.. ya you out spooled him but he got max power at 7300rpm's while yours took 9000rpms.
I always look at what the hp is at, at 6000rpms as a reference point, 450whp@6k is ideal, i only made 385@6k with my 67mm

if this was just a street car i would just get a t3 t4 57trim turbo, i basically want the smallest turbo that is still capable of trapping 135mph..

how much faster should the t3 67 spool over the t4 67?

Yea I outspool him and the powerbands are completely different, remember I am down 50whp alone just from our cam differences but whats odd is I would of went faster at the track if I kept the car together with less tq/hp and a car that was 250lb heavier........
