Maintenance schedule and a few other questions
Alright guys...well, considering all the hell my car has gone through just in the time I have had it, and just the shape it looks like...i'm going to go ahead and assume maintenance wasnt really kept up on it. I have my honda service manual in front of me with the required service schedules, but i figured i would ask my fellow prelude loves who have had real world experience with these cars. Assuming NOTHING has been done (with exception of oil changes, water pump and timing/balancer belt which i just did) What should i be replacing and checking on a '92 Si with 190k on the odo?
Also, when i did my timing belt, i apparently jumped a tooth on the intake side when i did the tensioning procedure, it advanced one tooth it appears (or the exhaust side retarded by one tooth, hard to tell, i havent had the time to get under and check where my crank is in correlation) I do plan to correct this when i get a new crank pulley, either before winter hits, or in the spring, but i wanted to make sure that being one tooth off wont cause catastrophic problems. I want to assume since my engine isnt making horrific sounds that everythings "fine" but....assumptions have a way of kicking my ***. So any insight here would be fantastic
Thanks for all the help in the past, and any info you guys can throw my way on this
Also, i'm going to do a search on this...but if anyone wants to chuck in some info on their favorite synthetic oil, that'd be fantastic. I'm running mobil 1 5w20 right now, and thinking about switching to amsoil 0w20 but want to do some more research beforehand.
Thanks again guys

I know it will.. But every car has its quirks. Things that need to be replaced, that are not mentioned in any service manual because its not a "normal" maintenance, but have been discovered in real world driving by various owners. Like some cars are known to have bad CV joints, and while not mentioned in any service manual, its generally accepted in that cars community that the CV joints should be replaced at a certain interval....thats the kind of info i'm looking for
Replace Power-Steering pump every 20,000 miles.
Replace radiator every 10,000 miles.
Replace Cylinder Head every 15,000 miles.
Replace Left headlight bulb every 97 miles ( Right bulb every 92 miles ).
Replace alternator tension Bolt every 12 (or so) miles.
Replace Lug nuts every 9 miles.
Having a NEW car after everything is replaced = Priceless.

that was just the beginning , I try to replace the zip-tie that holds the hood latch cable to the radiator supprt every oil change , which should be done every 100-300 miles. Like I said, it's just the beginning.
