timing belt install
ok i went to get new brakes for my car and after it was done we somehow ended up talking about my timing belt and the guys like yeah get that checked and replaced. i dont wanna pay like $200 for labor so i just wanted to know if anyone knows how to do it and can give me some info.
only post if you know what your talking about, if you have expeience with this or if you have done it before. thanks

Check out this website. When you change your timing belt, be sure to use an OEM Honda timing belt because the stuff at discount and autozone never fit properly. Also, change your water pump. While your at honda, remember to pick up honda bond for your water pump. Your gonna need a impact wrench also to loose the crank pulley and tighten it (its like 240 ft. lb of torque i thinkn). ALWAYS double check your timing also with the gear gears and the mark on the crank pulley. hope that helps

yikes...
i was quoted $475 at the dealer today. the guy i had bought the car from didn't tell me that it hadn't been replaced. the car has 130k on it. *sigh*. there goes mod-money

Go find someone on the board local that'll do it. Or someone that can refer you to a reputable mechanic. Doesn't anyone do swaps in your area?
