Timing belt problems.
Okay...i got everything off.
Did oil pump, water pump. Have new balance shaft belt and Timing belt.
Now I'm trying to get everything to TDC, but I can't turn the crank or the cam gears. The only thing that spins freely are the water pump drive, and the balance shafts.
Should I be able to turn the crank by hand?
Is something messed up?

i assume you don't have a helms manual?
you can turn the crank by putting the crank pulley back on and use a ratchet to turn it. the arrows on the cam gears will be pointing straight up, parallel to each other. you can double check TDC by removing the spark plug and putting a long screwdriver in there to see the position of the piston. then rotate the crank until the screwdriver goes all the way up and then hesitates, that is TDC. the lobes on the camshafts should be pointing in opposite directions at TDC.
also, here's a manual on line for some help, http://www.icelord.net/honda/repair/

nope. I've got every manual BUT a helms.
nothing says exactly what to do.
it's literally 'take off timing belt. put new timing belt on. install is reverse of removal'
I have no money, and no time to wait 10 days to have Helms ship me one.
Any help will be appreciated!

thanks for the tip!
One more question if you will....how do I line up the oil pump/and the balancer shaft?
Do I line up the white line on the shaft with the arrow above it? And what about the oil pump. I see a V notch in the oil pump gear, but I don't know which way to face it.
