Default 1995 acura integra 2dr RS VERY BAD MPG HELP PLS!

So i have new oils, new plugs, And the fuel filter, cap, rotor, wires are 2 years old
I dunno about the o2 sensors i havnt checked them cause i dunno ow, i have am ulti meter but i do not know how to use it well.

I have a Cel that says TDC sensor, i assume its the top dead center sensor thats in the dizzy.
the ignition takes about 4-5 seconds to start teh car cause of this cell. (ignition timing off)

this light has been on for 3 years though and the mpg has only been bad since last year. Car has been off the road since then also.

I know the head gasket is bad, its been bad for 2 years.

I do not use this car as DD, just to move it around evey so often to keep it working cause im not using it atm, but plan to in the summer, just getting it prepared for thewinter storage.

Currently replaced all tie rod ends and ball joints and tightened up the front end after clutch change.

any information regarding how to fix the TDC sensor and get the ignition timing back and the reason why i burn 20$ in gas like no tmw, id be happy.

i would assume your timing is probably physically off, so if you have to replace the timing belt, you might as well fix the whole car, get a new head gasket and fix everything else along with it.

well, dont check the O2 sensor. whether or not it's the problem, replace it anyway if you're having doubts.

well i dont know exactly, but before when i put twenty dollars in from empty i usualy got to the next city and back with quarter of a tank left and its only 45 km's to the city, highway km's though.

now twenty bucks gets me there and back, but no extra.

The timing isnt off because the cars idles fine, runs fine and accelerates like a champ. no over heating, nothing, jus a little coolant boil away, but i know i need to replace my thermo anyway.

I'm gonna tear down the thing i think and fix everything. LMK if theres anything I'm missing:

Head gasket kit
water pump
thermostat
timing belt
tensioner and spring

Also gonna do the plugs, cap, rotor and fuel filter again so its all new.
wires are NGK blues 2 years old so I'm gonna leave them.

I wanna do both o2 sensors but shops quoted me 320$ each sensor, wtf is this bullshit? how much do they really costs and i heard DENSO is better brand?.

also might i add i see a little blue smoke coming out my exhaust if i really hit it, so im burning oil? whats causing this.

also my exhaust tip is black with watery fuel smell.

yeh ive did everything with a honda and integras, but not once have i ever even looked at or changed an o2 sensor so i asked the questions before i even looked at things, hehe .

i know they just wrench in n out like spark plugs and connect with a connector.

im jus wondering how much they are and what the bette brands are, i hear denso ar good and the most used, jus wondering if there are more options.

or any specific ones for a B18B1

when i bought the plugs their already gapped, i havnt ever gapped plugs.

been using ngk vpowers.

also wires cost 125$ around here a set, and mine were replaced 2 years ago and the car was only used maybe 3/4 a year out of those 2 years

im on a budget atm, trying to get all my work done for under 400$.

i do my own work so labour isnt an issue.

here's a good list of parts to consider replacing when you do a timing belt job:

you're right about NGK spark plugs, they do come gapped out of the box.

weird, mine started having bad gas mileage when my check engine came on, cause of the distributor ... i guess i wasnt burning all of the fuel being delivered... you using a stock ecu? if not maybe its your tune.

it sounds like it isnt getting good enough spark to me. thats why i recommended the wires. but i understand working on a budget so i will make a list of things to check that would be free or very inexpensive. if anyone thinks of anything else please add to the list. i hate seeing an integra not running well.

1. check wires for resistance with ohm meter.
2. check o2 sensors with ohm meter.
3. visually inspect plugs. maybe take pictures and post them if they do not look right.
4. i would buy a plug gapper and check the plugs. (you can get one for $.50 so i think its worth it)

those are just the really cheap things. the timing job is a good idea too.

I had the same problem once when I got my teg running. The gas problem mainly comes from your timing (at least in my case) and o2 sensor but I strongly recommend fixing your timing because a tooth off makes a lot of difference. If it's off really bad you will definitely see a lack in power and a lot of gas consumption (redlining maybe difficult or slow).Cranking the motor on will also be a problem. If your timing is spot on and you check it with your timing gun, I would recommend checking your o2 sensor or at least get a new one.If it's not that continue on to expect your whole distributor, spark plug wires and spark plugs for new ones or for correct gaping. But I strongly suggest timing first because if it is the problem, distributor, spark plugs/wires will not be running correct due to improper firing even if its brand new.

I see nothing in here about an air filter, change that its cheap. As far as the rest goes... You have a bad head gasket and your timing is off? That stuff should be top priority if you habe any hopes of this car lasting.
