Pioneer Head Unit In EJ1
Just bought a new Pioneer head unit
Radio harness was cut of course..
Did research on how to wire it up.
Worked for ike 10 mins, then it shut off and never came back on..
I took the head unit out and it was burning hot..
Still never turned back on, and when i turn the key on, nothing happens except the head
unit gets super hot, like so hot you cant touch it..
Did I just blow up my new head unit?!
Any help will be geatly appreciaited.

Yes, it sounds like you have blown the output stage, my guess is miswired speakers or a short in a speaker or speaker lead.

Yes, a HU that just gets real hot is an indication that the output "ICs" are blown, [shorted out].
Where did you get it, maybe it was DOA, you may get it replaced under warranty. 94
