Default Throttle Body sizing vs IC piping sizing....

Ok, I need to decide on the throttle body vs IC piping. Now the IC piping going into the TB would be 2.5" or approximately 63.5mm. Now that isnt that large. Should I up the IC piping from turbo to TB to 2.75 and run a 70mm TB? Or just keep the 2.5" IC piping and go with a 64mm TB? Here is the setup:

60-1 T4 turbo
SFP race manifold
Built engine
JG Intake mani
SpeedPro

Looking for around 450-500 whp on street driven.

Thanks for the input.

I think you should stay with 2.5" piping and upgrade to a 65 or 70mm TB

Paul what benefits would I gain from a 2.5" piping and then a 70mm Tb?

kinda like a venturi effect I guess...I can't really explain it, but I think 2.75" is way over kill in a honda with less than 700 horses.

If im not mistaken you might wanna check out the Corky Bell book. I dont own one but........ I remember someone posting that there is a specific formula in there that tells you what size ic piping should be used in X turbo setup.

Or you can search, but I dont know if you will uncover that thread......definetly archived.

You can make 500 easy whp with 2.25 and 700 with 2.5. Are you palnning on making over 700? The volum might be more with larger piping but the volicty goes way down. Stick to the 2.5

No just looking for around 500. What size TB should I get with the 2.5" IC piping?

the 64 you have would work...maybe the 65mm Edlebrock? STR has tb's now in I think 64,66,68 and 70mm.

iv seen 3" ic piping and 75mm tb's make over 600hp and at the same time u take someone like jojo callos and he is using small piping (i think something like 2.25 or 2.5" piping) and im not sure how much power he is makeing but im sure its enough to get his car into the 8's

to sum it up... both work... its up to u imo

Jojo uses 2.5 inch piping on his car. He took his exact setup from the white hatch and put it into the integra with the better suspension of the integra and ran 8's with that. He makes about 650hp with his car.
