transmission issue

Default transmission issue

so i have a 92 cx with a d15b7 and stock dx tranny out of a 94 dx i was driving today in 2nd gear and it made a whining sound the whole time it was in gear so i finished my trip home which was maybe 2 miles cross town and got to the last turn and its stuck in third ..... i pull the shifter back and its like its in neutral it flops side to side like its in neutral but i pull the shifter to neutral and put it in first but its not first its still 3rd...... any ideas?

Did you change your transmission fluid? That happen to me too. I changed my transmission fluid with penzoil sychromesh from autozone and I have a smooth shift from 1st to 5th gear. No grinds! Try changing your fluid and see what happens next. Good luck!

haha okay so im a dumbass i didnt check the simpliest thing first... but then again i lowered it 3 inches and didnt have a jack to see under...... the bolt fell out of the shifter to linkage area haha it was half way in..... so thanks for your help and i will be changing the fluid this weekend im sure its due for some fresh liquids
