CD5 ball joint replcement
Hey there folks! my name's chris and as you can see, im a noob. ive had my 96 accord for just about a month now and it is beautiful everything works and it is in amazing shape 147k on it. the only thing it needs (besides a wash...thus no pictures) it upper front ball joints. i plan on doing the job myself. it looks like a simple job but can anyone tell me if it is just a matter of removing those 3 bolts? do i have to worry about the springs? and i also plan on dropping the car about 2.5 inches relatively soon, would it be worth my while to buy some adjustable upper control arms rather than oe? tien adjustable uca's are ~$170 versus ~$150 for oe. any and all help is graciously accepted!
We actually found out recently that EF upper control arms work in the CD chassis. I believe they used Skunk2.
Personally I wouldn't worry about it and just buy a new OEM upper arm.

Most places will just change out your entire upper control arm.
However, if you plan on lowering I would suggest the balljoint camber kit since you need to replace your balljoints anyways. I had a shop press out my old ones and install the Ingalls balljoint camber kit w/o any problem. They only charged $80 whereas other shops wanted $250+.
Also, when doing you suspension prepared to spend a LONG time on the bolt for each side of the car in the rear.

The shop that I had do it is a local shop and had no problem aligning the car.
You can press out + in ball joints, but most shops don't want to mess w/ it or are afraid of bending the arm. You also can rent the press @ Autozone for free.

I was the first one who used the EF S2 uca on the CD chassis... This is not a replacement part, the EF uca is shorter that means you'll gain negative camber.

I had the ingalls adj ball joint before and it didn't work for me, my car is too low and the ball joint would hit the fender well on every bump on the road... S2 it's different story.
Yeah neg camber is bad but when you try to fit wider wheels neg camber it's a must.

im still trying to find out whether or not to get the adjustable uca's or not? if i get the adjustable ball joints, am i going to hit the inner fender at ~2.5 drop?
I have about a 1 1/2 finger gap in the front. On some of the bigger bumps it will hit the inner fender but since I have 18's I drive over bumps @ a slow speed anyways to avoid bending a wheel.
Not really a big deal to me. Everytime it hits its just a reminder I need to be more cautious/drive slower.

I don't like whoring my car like this kid who thinks is dumped ^^ but maybe I'll post up some pics tomorrow.
I think you should be ok with that drop, it also depends on your suspension if it's stiff or soft.
