mileage + turbo = ???????
i have a gsr with 125,000 miles on it and im trying to figure what i should do for a turbo setup, ive consider selling the car and getting something with less miles, but im consider rebuildng the b18c1. My head is in new shape, i just recently replaced some valves and all my valve guides and some other ish, but im wondering what i should do with my block. Im only trying to run 7-10 psi so i dont want to go all out, but what would be some good options. Would it be safe with just new pistions, or should i be sending it to someplace like golden eagle i get everything done, im kind of on a budget with the rebuild because i need money for the turbo setup. If i could get some prices and some options that would be very nice
I was in a similar issue with my LS, what i did was sell my old LS swap w/ 119K for $900 and bought another swap out of a 98 LS with 29K miles for $1250.
Try selling your swap on Ebay. Or you could sell your GSR swap for like $2200 and buy an ls swap and turbo it and then you have an extra grand to work with for your turbo setup.

swap this into that and swap that into this, but swap only this into that and swap these with those.. and swap these with those... and you have an extra headache to go with it.....
** Take your motor out, have it sent out and rebuilt and drop in some forged pistons and rods... get it back drive for a while... break it in. THEN go turbo**
Don't try to get fancy with the swaps and crap.... K.I.S.S. (Keep it Simple Stupid)... the more swapping and crap you do the more chances for problems.. and for power.... why swap out a gsr motor for a less powerfull LS motor??? Turbo both motors stock and the GSR will put out more hp.. at the same psi...
If your worried about boosting a GSR, drop the compression during the rebuild a little and get a hondata or similar.... then boost the hell out of it..

just do a compresson check and if it is good turbo the bitch. to did my sohc at 119k and now i am at 137k and it is still going strong, but i am curently building another block to put everthing on, just have a back up plan just in case
