Ok...I have this weird noise coming from my head

The motor is a b18c gsr. Milage unknown. I know i have a bent valve but other than that the motor it self is in good condition (according to the compression/leak down test). Now it seems whenever i engage VTEC there is a noise almost like your hearing the rocker system engage and same when i come out of VTEC. The weird thing is it doesnt seem to do this all the time. Just wondering what this could be so i wont be in total shock when i get my head re-worked

Ive realized that at the worst it would be the rocker system but could this be the LMA's or no?

 

i would say a rocker from the bent valve. cheap fix, get a valve job(makes a big dif) and new valve or two and rocker and its fixed. good luck chuck.
after the valve bent have them check the valve guide

 

i get a loud click very intermittently during vtec engagement on my b18c1 as well... i just ignore it lol

 

when vtec engauges a the rockers lock together...that might be the problem child with a bent valve the rockers could be off center when trying to lock

 

i second the valve job. valve job is THE MOST CRITICAL part of head flow.
