93 Del Sol Si leaking oil from the distributor housing
Ok i just picked up a mostly stock adulted owned 1993 Del Sol Si with 170,000 miles on it. Before i bought it i noticed oil leaking from around the distrbutor. I asked the owner and he said he replaced the distributor some time ago and did not replace the ''O'' ring on the distributor. Is this the problem? Ive rebuilt many a engine on old muscle cars but i am new to Honda's. Cant be too hard to pull out the distributor and replace the ring...right?
Only 4 bolts for the valve cover then 2 more right near the distributor on a little "main cap". You could just buy a tube of Honda Bond sealant and apply it around the distributor and put it back together. Should work out just fine.
3 bolts hold on the dist, then there are 2 o rings on the dist shaft. the o rings are like 10 bucks at honda. the job should take about 15 mins
mine leaks from the distributor cap and housing, and still drive it like that, i cant find a z6 dizzy at the junk yard and i cant spend $150 for a new one, point is that dont worry about it if its not leaking like crazy like mine is and even then honda engines will take the abuse.
^ mine leaked just a tiny bit through the bushing and seal and fried my coil and ignitor. you should take care of that asap. if you are mechanicly inclined you can replace the seal, they're almost all the same from the late 80's on.
the bearing is busted, rings are fine, can find a new bearing cus they dont sell it, and getting it used makes no sense right now, i have been drinving it for 3 months now.

kiana60, i dont know where you're from but if you have a kragen/checker/shucks/O'rielly auto parts store i know they can order the bushing. I went to the local honda dealer first and they told me replacement bushings didn't exist!
not my car, but if it's dripping oil, get it fixed. if to much oil drops on the hoses below it can cause those hoses to swell up and bust, then thats no good
I tried autozone and smaler stores for the part number and or correct part but with no luck, they just don't sell it (help?) and about the hoses your right, coolant return line (the one under the dizzy) bursted but again I can't do much but to wait for the junk yard!
And sorry for highjacking your thRead!

-- Did you check your junkyard for 92-95 Civic EXs and Del Sol Si's? They have the same part number for the distributor housing, so the bearing will be the same.
-- It is possible that the 92-95 Civic DX/LX (among other years and models) use the same dizzy bearing as the EX's and Del Sol Si. I got a dizzy and so dizzy bearing from a 97 Civic in a junkyard a year ago, and the bearing works fine in my 93 Civic DX dizzy; no more red dust.
-- cbrbearing.com had the oddball bore bearing (12.46 mm) for my 93 Civic DX. Take apart your distributor and see what size bore is stamped on the dizzy bearing. For disassembly tips, see http://honda.lioness.googlepages.com/distributorbearing . If you do take your dizzy apart, I would be interested in knowing what is stamped on the bearing.
