wondering if anyone knows if the only difference between obd1-2 alternators is the plug?
mine seized up in the bracket and i have a obd1 alternator sitting around. if its just the plug i could just splice in the obd1 plug, just wondering.

 

please someone has to know.

 

i had a b20 vtec in a obd1 gsr. the harness was obd1 but the alterator was obd2. they just repinned it and it worked fine

 

Yeah all the alt's are the same.

incase you were wondering the pinouts

1 pin is a ground "only when the alternator isnt spinning" this goes to the battery light on the dash.

1 pin is +12 volt <-- you need to supply it 12 volts.

the other 2 pins are charge sense and these go directly to the ecu.
