d16y8 check engine light!! problem! help!
I checked the codes and it said i had a tps sensor problem? but if i did, then my car wouldnt be idling right or even running. Can someone please help me how to solve this?
to check your TPS with a multimeter:
the center wire (red i believe) shave a little of the wire coating off to expose the wire.
grab your multimeter and put it on DC voltage
with Key on engine off, throttle closed, you should have .45 or .5 volts on that wire
with key on engine off, wide open throttle, you should have 4.55 or at most 5.00 volts
i just copy and pasted that from another thread with the same issue.
this light wont make it idle bad or run bad, it will stop VTEC from working.
if your TPS doesnt show those values it is probably bad and needs replacement.
sometimes if your throttle cable is too tight it can cause this code as well

well i just scanned it and full throttle is suppose to go up to 100% and when i scanned it, full throttle only went to 91.7% so im loosing power. could it just be the throttle pedal position sensor???
