I just bought a 98 honda civic Hx and the check iengine light came on. i checked the code and it gave me a P1382 Cylinder Position Sensor No Signal. would that mean i need to replace my crank position sensor? or is it a sensor inside the distributor?

 

Take off the cap and make sure the screw didn't back off of the rotor. Check to see if there is any broken pieces inside the distributor also.

 

Ok so i cheked out the distributor and found 2 wires off a sensor. one wire is a light orange the other is yellow. they go to a sensor bihind the rotor can some check for me and look on witch side the wires go.

 

i have the same problem. dont wanna change anything till im at least 90% cuz both parts are expensive.
but i have been told its the distributor but i call auto parts and they all say thers no sensor in the distributor.
