HX Rims Does not fit on my EX....
Today I just bought a set of HX rims 14x5.5 et45 and I tried to put them on my 1998 Civic EX 4dr. However after putting on one of the HX rim in front and torquing it down to specs, the inside spokes of the rim was rubbing against the brake caliper bracket. I wonder if anyone ever have a problem like this?
Hhhmm, grinding down the calipers seem like a pretty scary idea. And I did try the search function, it's hard to get such keyword words logged for search. If possible anyone can link me to there. I will try to continuing searching but it don't seem to be getting anywhere with the keywords I'm using...

Won't spacers affect the strength on how to lugs and threads put out? BTW, I found that DIY, but the pics are no longer there....

ppl do it all the time
no. i ran a 2" thick spacer on my tj when rock crawling, strength is not an issue for what ull be doing
as for grinding its simple. take the caliper off and apply it to a grinding wheel. just be cautious to how much u grind of, go little at a time. but those things r thick as hell so its not to bad. if ur that worried pick up a bs junk one from the yard and run a test grinding to know how much u have to play with. u shouldn need to shave much off.

How is that scary at all? I've been using grinders since I was like 10 years old, they're extremely easy to use and it's almost impossible to mess this up...you're just moving the grinder up and down a piece of metal until you remove some material. Piece o' cake.
Although, the HX rims are really narrow and high offset, so you might want to throw a 5 or 10 mm spacer in there.

Okay, I've decided that I am just goign to get spacers, because grinding my calipers then getting spacers will be a waste of labor. Also does anyone have a good brands that's cheap and durable? The ones so far I've found are Eibach and H&R. Eibach makes 5mm and 15mm.

Here's the DIY that was mentioned previously: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/how-fitting-hx-rims-big-calipers-2510309/#post38836136
Well, I have gunmetal Slipstreams right now 16x7 +40, but I want to save some gas for the time being and I always wanted a set of HXs. Also want to get a set of black slips, silver, or white set in the near future.
