what is this red hose for?
i dont remember what this is for or where its hooked up to. a lot of the oem parts are gone so i have no idea what it could be.
its the red hose comming out of the firewall.

i could be wrong but i think its just fumes from you fuel system that vents out into the canister to lower emissions.
i don't suggest plugging it.
Its the fuel vapor line coming from your gas tank.. kinda like a vent so pressure doesnt get too high in your tank. Turbo Dan is correct. DONT plug it.. leave it open or connect it back to the charcoal canister. In the shaved/tuck thread there is a way to disconnect it right from the tank so the vapors dont just leak into your bay.
sorry to ask this but do you happen to have the link to that thread for the shave tuck. i may try that. if not ill try to figure out how the canister was hooked up.
dan is correct but living in orange county i would not remove that hose since the smog tech or the bar will be looking for it since it is emission related.
It removes pressure from the gas tank and is stored in the canister at a certain vacuum the gas vapors are realeased and go into the intake manifold this helps the amount of hc that are released into the atmosphere.
So if i were you i would not disconnect it unless it is a fuild build track car since you will be needing it for inspection

can it go into one of the intake manifold nipple?
i have the skunk2 tb and IM. there is no real dedicated place to install it. i might not use the charcoal canister if i can avoid it. will i lose fuel with it left open like that?

there are 2 hoses, one with the red fiber stuff and one that is rubber. the rubber one goes from the fire wall to the canister, and the fiber one goes form the canister to the throttle body.
if you dont wanna use it you just put a small breather filter on the line at the fire wall and take the rest of the assembly off (canister and the vacuum module that controls the flow and such.)

i may just leave off the canister if it doesnt cause any issues with how the car runs.
also noticed my aftermarket skunk2 tb doesnt have a place to plug it into.
