Need some help w/D16Z6 Turbo
I've been running my car with stock settings, no fuel pump upgrade or larger injectors. The local shop told me to get colder spark plugs and upgrade my fuel pump and get larger injectors. The thing is I dont know what I need, if any of you can help I would appreciate it. I'm running a 95 EX D16Z6 With greddy turbo on stock boost with IC. I have an AEM high Flow Fuel Rail and B&M Fuel Regular so i dont think I need to upgrade those.
You are running the blue box or whatever fmu that comes with the kit aye?? If so you will be fine on standard boost but I would get a better fuel pump if you want to go higher that setup is good to 7psi (highest octane pump gas of course) after that get it tuned properly with bigger injectors and you can go to 10 psi safely.
No blue box, i want to boost higher later on so thats why I wanted to know if I needed those. And I do run at the highest octane we have which is 91. Also what colder plug shoudl i get?
Well you need to add extra fuel right now or you will blow it! One heat range colder plugs so ngk 7s will be the ones. Check out http://www.hondata.com do it once do it right!
Dude, you don't have any kind of fuel enrichment? That's crazy. You are running 5.5lbs and you aren't running any extra fuel?
I don't understand how the motor hasn't blown yet.

So i am correct in thinking you aren't using the greddy blue box that comes with the kit?
What are your goals for this set up? if they are like 8 psi or less I'd look for a blue box and upgrade to 310 CC/min injectors and a intank fuel pump. IF you want more I'd save for a hondata or AEM EMS.
Either way, you can't go wrong with fuel pump and some injectors unless you get too big of injectors and you can't trim them back so you'll run too rich.
You have to determine your goals and then ask how to reach them. You'll find that it is cheap to run sub 8lbs but it starts getting really expensive to go above that safely.
Hope that helps

Well IO'm going to run 8psi and under so I guess I will look for a blue box and get 310 CC/min injectors, what kinda of feul pump shoudl I get? Also if I run the blue box would that iliminate the FMU?
See you should be able to find a blue box cheap. Go to turbocivic.net for how to wire it up. You won't need an fmu or a missing link to run then. I'm running the blue box with 6.5 psi and stock injectors and stock fuel pump. The car runs perfectly!!! Complete drivability. I think before I go to 8-9psi and am going to get 310 and a Walbro pump.
Walbro 255lph will be good, thats what most guys run.
I have some RC Eng. 310cc injectorst hat are only two months old, w/ the clips! I'll sell them to you for $200 shipped. E-mail me at Cazan82@aol.com if interested.
Youc can get 8 psi w/ the Blue box, just get the fuel pump, injecotrs and you set.
No need for missing link or FMU with it either.
