my motor is surging ... the engine light is not on... when i unplug the idle air control valve the motor revs and stays at 2000 rpm at idle ... do you guys think i need a new idle air control valve? ... ps i took the valve apart and cleaned it already and the valve does move and spring back .. thanks guys!

try oiling it. I just had to clean mine cause my car kept stalling out and I read to oil it.

But also check for vacuum leaks. Water bottle and soap

my k20a2 is doing the same thing, but only at wot in 4,5 & 6th gear. i've narrowed it down to either the tps or map sensor. but, i did get a a cel light about a month ago. tps voltage reading too high

take off intake, start car, cover hole inside throttle body for the iacv with your finger and see if it stops, if it does then you found the problem, cleaning them sometimes does not fix them. if it dosent stop the problem it could be a number of other things like air bubbles in your coolant, map or tps, dirty vtc, or crank sensor, loose cam sensors..
