Default help with tire and rim sizes

I am looking to be buying a 91 civic and i just bought new tires about 2 months ago and would like to keep them but they are 16 inch tires. The tires are 225/45/16, what are the dimensions for the rims i would need to put on the civic to keep the same tires, also is it possible to find any with those dimensions in a 4 lug rim? i have looked all over and couldnt find any that are cheap enough so that it would be worth it to keep these tires instead of buying new tires for the civic rims. I know there are alot of questions in this one post but any help is greatly appreciated and also some input on cheap rims in those dimensions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

you already know the rim diameter, now just find out the depth and you're good to go

for example 17x9 = 17 inch diameter, and a depth of 9 inches

You'll want to find a wheel in the 16x7 - 16x8 range. Unfortunately, the tires mentioned are (at least) 5% too large for the car. No matter what wheel you get, the tires will be too big.

Yes, the tires are definitely too big, and will probably rub in the wheel wells. For 16" wheels on your car, you need 205/40-16 or 195/45-16 tires.

Well that sucks now doesn't it! Now I have to go and get new tires or find some rims that someone is selling cheap with some tires that have almost new tread.

In the future, you might want to find out what tire size is best BEFORE you actually go out and buy the tires...

Okay, that makes sense. Unfortunately, though, they won't work. Sorry to hear about the trans...
