start off by taking your door trim off. dont know if you know how to do that? then remove the plastic seal on the door. you will then need to roll the window down halfway or so til you get a clear view of the two 10mm bolts screwed into your window. and oh, the removing and installing process of your window may be a lot easier if you took off your belt molding too! you'll need to take your mirror off first before doing so..

I know how to take out the door panel. How do I remove my side mirror? And what plastic seal are you talking about? And what belt molding?

Sorry, kinda new.

Thanks.

after you take your door panel off there is a white seal that covers the inside of the door so water doesnt leak. you'll have to peel it off or at least halfway from the bottom up so you'll have access to your window bolts.
after your door trim is off, your mirror is held on by 3 8mm bolts. un-do those 3, unplug your mirror (if its powered) and off it comes.
your belt molding is the black molding on the outside of your door where the window is. there are white tabs behind it that you'll need to pop off one by one in order to get the molding off. be careful not to use to much pressure or force when popping those tabs off cuz they may break easily.
but like i said, taking the belt molding off will make it easier for removing and installing your window, but it may be not 100% neccessary if you dont know how to take it off or if youre scared that you might break the tabs.

Since the OP messaged me and I also answered. Perhaps my description will also help.

Hi

You seem to know a lot about Hondas. Do you know how to remove the windows on a 1999 civic coupe? I want to replace my window glass and I'm not sure how to remove it. I searched and I couldn't find any info on it.

Thanks

It depends on which glass.

If you mean the door windows, remove the inner door panel.

Carefully peel the plastic moisture shield away. You can leave it on the bottom or on a side since you'll need to put it back on later.

Roll the window up an down until you can see the two bolts on the bottom of the glass.

Have a friend hold the glass from the top.

Remove those two bolts.

Have the friend lift the glass up and out of the track.

Installation is the opposite.

Yes, I need to remove my windows. What plastic are you talking about? Is it the black thing that goes around the window?

I understood the rest. Thanks a lot!!

You won't see the plastic moisture shield until you remove the inner door panel.

To remove the door panel there's a screw in the inner door handle and in the armrest. Remove both screws and then remove the door handle and the cup from the armrest.

If you have manual windows, you need to remove the handle to roll the window up and down. There's a metal clip in there that I believe you can pinch to remove. Then remove the handle.

If you have power windows, you'll have to unplug everything when you remove the door panel.

Once you remove the screws, put your hands at the bottom of the door panel and pull. There should be a bit of a place you can slip your fingers between the door and the inner panel. Then pull the clips away around the sides of the panel.

Finally lift the panel up from inside the window channel. Unplug everything and set the panel aside.

Then you can see the moisture shield. It's held on with a nasty sticky putty. Don't destroy the putty since you'll need it to stick the moisture shield on carefully. The moisture shield tears easily.

The black plastic never gets removed.

Just finished replacing my windows. Only trouble I had was trying to take out a worn rusted screw in my door lock... When I took out my door panel, my driver side moisture shield was all torn apart... I guess they took it apart before... Will it do any damage if I don't put back the moisture shield?

Thanks for the help!

Shouldn't cause any serious damage.
You can replace it with some plastic used for covering the carpet when you paint your house

The moisture shield helps keep your car's windows from fogging up so easily. Basically it helps keep moisture out of the car. Any similar plastic sheeting should work fine though.
