help replacing condenser fan in 97 civic ex
i just recieved my condenser fan in the mail today and im try removing my old condenser fan ive remove all the bolt and plugs. now i only have the discharge line and condenser line left. i tried to loosen up the discharge line and it started this hissing sound like a presssure is coming off so im not sure if a liquid is gonna start spilling or something so i tighten it back. i havent tried the condenser line yet bec. it might do the same thing. so is there other steps that i should do before doing itshould i have a proffesional do it for me. thanks.
...There is pressurized refrigerant in those lines. First you need to drain the system. Then proceed with your work. When you are done you'll need to go to a shop and get the system evacuated and recharged. That will cost around $100. Do not use a kit from the auto parts store, they are ****. Plus, since you don't know there's refrigerant in the lines, you will probably not succeed doing a recharge yourself because you don't know what you're doing.
so theres no other way of removing the fan. i have to remove the discharge line bec. i was looking at it and i was thinking maybe i could pull it out from the bottom and just disconnect the condenser line bec. its the only one left holding on the fan but im not sure if it does the same thing with the discharge line.
yeah im just trying to replace the fan and theres only one bolt thats left holding. its the condenser line and i dont know if its safe to remove bec. if i can remove it safely then i just pull it out from the bottom bec. pulling upward, the discharge line is blocking.

yeah. looking at it its the only one left to unbolt and i looked at the replacement fan and it has a hole in it at the same part, then i at the car theres this steel line thats bolted to it. on the service manual it says its the condenser line.
finally finished replacing the fan. thanks for the help guys. another question. i had a gauge from ez chill (r134) refrigerant from autozone. the pressure to was almost in the area that indicates adding a refrigerant. what refrigerant do you recommend? location to buy and brand. does my civic use a r134 refrigerant?
yes it does use r134 but since you loosened the lines you may need to also pull a vacuum before adding refrigerant. the brand i cant help you with that because i dont know of any besides ezchill
what do you mean by pulling a vaccum? i didnt loosen it that much, i just loosen to the point when i hear pressure was coming off that i tighten it right away.
