Which engine to swap into del sol?

Hey I'm thinking about taking out the z6 and putting something bigger in. Which route should I go? b16? Gsr? LS/Vtec? B20/Vtec. I would just to like to hear your opinions. And which one would be the cheapest if I swapped it in myself? Thanks in advance.

What do you want to do with the car? Just make more power? do you travel lots of highway? Autocross? Drag? Stay NA or go forced induction ?
There are alot of variables that can determine what would fit you best. We need more info to give an informative reply.

Well I want to stay NA for now. And I don't travel lots of highway nor autocross or drag. Just want to go faster
the easiest swap would be the b16a3, as it comes right out of the delsol VTEC and should be nice and easy to swap in with the usual parts (ECU, harness, axles?, etc). its definatly a power increase over the z6's 140ish hp but the b18 shouldnt be too bad to swap for you either if you really want that extra displacement. as someone previously noted, the fad is the K series engines which are nice, but awfully pricey and not the easiest to swap into the sol's as youll probably run into some ground clearance issues and a whole mess of OBD 2 wiring (if you arent already a 96-97 sol). Id say your best choice for overall ease of installation and wallet is that b16a3 but its not as big of a HP increase as say the B18, K20, H22, etc.... hope it helps

the b16a2/a3 are the stock motor for the del sol vtec model. a3 is obd1 and a2 is obd2. they are definitely a fun car with this engine.
LS swap can be fun too and is definitely affordable and leaves room to upgrade down the road if you decide to go boost or run LS/VTEC.

^^what he said. an LS with a GSR transmission is perfect. If u run the B16 transmission you will be screaming down the highway at a much too high RPM. with the LS later down the road u could VTEC it or boost it as the LS motors handle boost well. oh yeah and u should throw the b18b1 in it
