Use your stock FPR, the stock one is great even for higher horsepower applications.

If you insist on running a FPR then do what SIred suggested, running a remote mounted one.

why? lol. just use the stock fpr. it'll work with 6psi. besides, you'll gain more hp by using an aftermarket intake mani than you will with an adjustable fpr. besides, once its tuned, the adjustable fpr will become void and useless.

I'v used my stock FPR running 9 psi of boost on my b20 and b16, nothing happened. Alot of the stock parts will run in the higher horsepower ranges, FPR, Stock ignition has been proven over 500 whp, stock ported head etc.

Well duh!!! It is still a normal car when you are not in boost. Just drive there in vacuum and it would be exactly like you don't even have a turbo on it...

Remove the piping up by the throttle body just to ensure you do not make any psi on the way there. Alot of people have done that and it turned out just fine.

Im on 14lbs but remeber its not about the psi its about the hp. What i've heard from friends(key word is friends not pros) is that the stock FPR is good up to 400whp.

Can I add another part? Head gasket is a good example alot of drag cars still use the oem HG.

Actually alot of people prefer OEM head gaskets over cometic or anything aftermarket, as sometimes they have problems sealing, but again I don't know if that is a error made by the engine builder or if it is the actual gasket itself.

i personally don't like cometic head gaskets. i've never used one, but from what i've read on here, and saw first hand, they are overpriced junk. stock ones seem to work pretty damn good.

I have an aftermarket one to lower the compression a tad bit but i have to agree oem is best by far for HG.

I use OEM and Cometic with no problems, BUT my head surface and block deck are always straight/perfectly flat. Most people have problems with things because the prep is not good or they have no clue what they are actually supposed to do.

Yea before the turbo build I made sure the block and and head were perfectly straight. Replaced the HG with an OEM one and water pump. sounds good fellas thanks for all the input/help! now im just waiting for my pusher fan to mount on the other side of the radiator! once i get that in i will be good to go! Thanks again, -Rick

yea you'll be fine painting it. plenty of people have already done this. the only issue is with wear/tear the paint can fade/chip and leave your intercooler lookin kinda janky lol.

...Start your car and you are in vacuum. When you start to drive it easy and don't load the motor too much. Try to keep it below 4k RPMs or lower is better and no more than 50% throttle. You should really have a boost/vacuum gauge if you are going turbo. If you don't have one you will not be able to see a problem if for some reason you start to boost spike (which could blow your motor) or any other type of problems that could occur. Ideally you should at least have a wideband as well. If you had a boost/vacuum gauge then you would truly not have a problem staying in vacuum.

you can drive a turbo car in vacuum all the way up to the redline should you choose to do so. its done all the time... especially with people on a budget waiting for a tune.

You can even get your wastegate to stay open if you are really wanting to stay out of boost.
For short periods of time you should be fine - wouldn't suggest you run like that for longer than you absolutely need to though.
