Default fuel pressure regulator

I have stock ls with an sc34 and all the other goodies. Will be running 10-12 psi once I take it to the dyno. So my question is should I purchase a fpr before I take it to get tuned? If so what kind is a good brand. I've seen the b&m style where you cut the oem in half and then the other style.
